WhatsApp Messenger begins testing animated stickers on smartphones

WhatsApp is testing animated stickers in beta versions of apps for Android and iPhone. This feature is available through WhatsApp v2.20.194.7 Beta for Android and WhatsApp v2.20.70.26 Beta for iPhone.

The instant messaging app has been announced to be serving on animated stickers for a while now. however, the official launch details are still not known. WhatsApp started supporting stickers in 2019, but it still doesn’t offer animated stickers beyond testing. The app includes its own default sticker pack, and users can also download third-party sticker packs.

WABetaInfo found new animated sticker support in WhatsApp v2.20.194.7 Beta for Android and WhatsApp v2.20.70.26 Beta for iPhone. Tracker points out that this feature also works in WhatsApp Business and is only available to certain users of WhatsApp.

According to WABetaInfo, animated stickers can be split into three parts. In the latest beta update, there are very few users who can see the sticker, and you can send an animated sticker or mark and pass an asterisk.

However, other parts of the ability to get animated stickers from third-party stores and download animated stickers from the WhatsApp store are still missing. So this feature will not be completed until all three parts are distributed to beta users.

Android Police Ahave reported that they can also download a default sticker pack from WhatsApp. They were able to see 5 stickers packs-playful Piyomaru, Rico’s Sweet Life, Moody Foodies, Chummy Chum Chums, and Bright Days. The statement repeatedly states that the sticker pack will not be visible except someone sends a sticker from each pack.

Third-party animated sticker packs are not supported on WhatsApp v2.20.194.7 beta for Android. The report’s chat sticker is animated only once, and the user must scroll up or down to trigger again. However, animated stickers repeat indefinitely in the WhatsApp selector.

WhatsApp v2.20.194.7 beta for Android is automatically provided if you download it via APK Mirror or use the WhatsApp beta channel through the Google Play store.
