OnePlus 9RT is slated to hit the market in India and China in October. A new report claims that the Chinese company is working on a new smartphone for its “T” series. In the OnePlus 8 series, the company did it differently and released a single OnePlus 8T model.
Currently, the OnePlus 9 series appears to be doing the same, but it is reported that it uses the OnePlus 9R as a base. They have also revoked some specifications of this OnePlus 9RT model.
Some reports claim that the OnePlus 9T will not be available this year. OnePlus T-Series smartphones are a slimmed-down version of the flagship series, and with the OnePlus 8 line. The company used the OnePlus 8T, a single T-Series phone.
According to a new report from Android Central citing privileged sources. The next T-Series phone will be the OnePlus 9RT, which will be available in October for the Indian and Chinese markets, at least this year. As the name suggests, this is a slimmed down version of the OnePlus 9R, the cheapest product in the OnePlus 9 series.
In terms of specs, the OnePlus 9RT would have the same 120Hz AMOLED panel as the OnePlus 9R, support 65W fast charging, a 4,500mAh battery, and come with a “high-bin version of the Snapdragon 870.
In terms of optics, the OnePlus 9RT can be fitted with the same main sensor as the OnePlus Nord 2 (a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor).
On the software side, the report adds that it will be the first OnePlus phone with OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12. This further improves ColorOS features like resizable floating windows, theme stores, and ColorOS private security.
OxygenOS 12 is said to lack Google’s new Material Your aesthetic. The report states that OnePlus wanted to release a closed beta of OxygenOS 12. But several build bugs prevented it from happening.
The entire software team appears to be working on fixing bugs and releasing a closed beta for testers by the end of this month. Please note that OnePlus does not share any information about development with the closed beta of OnePlus 9RT or OxygenOS 12.
