Xiaomi plans to release the next-generation Mi Band 5 in China at the end of next month or the first half of July with the help of its subsidiary Huami. we know that Mi Band 5 has a bigger display, more features, NFC in the global version.
Mi Band 5 is said to be integrated with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. This means that the band has a small microphone for taking voice commands. However, the band cannot explain the result from the speaker. Mi Band 5 is said to reply in the form of text on smartphones.
It’s not as smart as a smartwatch, but better than nothing. The user gives the band a voice command and the reply is displayed on the smartphone. However, for simple tasks such as receiving a call or playing music, users can perform complex commands in a completely contactless manner.
While onboard can negatively impact battery life, Xiaomi may upgrade the power plant to supplement additional features. Apart from Alexa integration, Mi Band 5 can further analyse blood oxygen levels. The band uses an optical sensor to take a reading.
This is not a new feature of fitness trackers, many Mi Band 4 rivals have been providing SpO2 reading capabilities for years. Xiaomi finally considered adding it to their most popular fitness tracker. With such features, Mi Band 5 will be more attractive to fitness tracker users.
Earlier rumours suggest that the Mi Band 5 will get a new 1.2-inch OLED display, and perhaps a similar design to the Redmi Band, which was launched a few months ago. Currently, Mi Band 4 is available in India for Rs 2,299, while Mi Band 3 is available for Rs 1,599. Mi Band 3i is a more affordable version of MI Band 3 without a heart rate sensor.
