Google launches the new feature called People Card: Here’s how to make one for yourself

People Card

Today, Google launched a new feature called People Cards in India, this new feature let you create a profile on its Search Engine. A new feature that has been tested in the country for years is bringing virtual business cards, such as Google Search Experience, where users can represent existing websites or social media profiles to make their social media profiles public.

It uses Google’s data Chart to display information provided by users. Specifically, you require to provide your mobile number and a Google Account to create your people’s card on Google Search. Google allows people card functionality for mobile users.

This indicates that you need to sign in to your Google account on your mobile phone to create a public profile. Also, the new experience is currently only available in English, but other languages will be added in the future.

Today, we are solving these challenges with a new feature called people cards. It’s like a virtual visiting card, where you can highlight your existing website or social profiles you want people to visit, plus other information about yourself that you want others to know. Lauren Clark, Product Manager, Google Search said in Google’s official blog post.

The purpose of creating a people card is to allow an individual to have a public Google Search profile that appears above all results. As per Google, the purpose of the People Card is to provide useful and reliable information to the user using this feature. Hence, all users will have the option to report abuse, spoofing, or poor quality content if they find anything strange using the card. Search giants are also touting the introduction of a combination of human reviews and automated techniques to flag content that is out of policy.

How to make a Google People Card for yourself

To design your own People card, log in to your Google account, and search for “add to search.” The prompt “Add yourself to Google Search” looks.

Tap on that prompt and you will be asked to provide a phone number which will be verified through a 6 digit unique code to start the process.
